Telecommunication Engineering Career Episode 1

Project Name: INTEGRATION OF 3G TECHNOLOGY WITH RELATED PROTOCOL

Project Type: Academic Based Career Episode Project

Demographics: This project was done during the final year of author’s bachelor degree in information and communication technology from “University name”, Australia. This project was accomplished successfully by the proper support and guidance of “supervisor name” from August 2016 to November 2016, a period of four months.

Engineering Activities of Telecommunication Engineer:

  1. To study the 3G technology and its related protocol and understand the networking process through a survey on various articles and other sources available on the internet
  2. To identify the terminal component of the Protocol stack of 3G-324 and design as well as define the procedure for the terminal using H245 and H223 protocol stack
  3. To propose an algorithm for handling the message and analyzing the results from the experimentation
  4. To propose an approach for the dispatch of data which help in the optimization of the system and
  5. To perform analysis of experimental data as well as heuristic analysis for enhancing performance
  6. To develop the Video Instant Messaging system by integrating reduced-sip to PC and gateway of 3G so that massage can be understood in both TCP/IP and 3G network
  7. To propose the universal gateway for interconnecting all the networks and illustrating its success for implementation

Problem & Solutions:

Some of the major problem that was encountered during the INTEGRATION OF 3G TECHNOLOGY WITH RELATED PROTOCOL along with their solutions are shown below:-

  1. Problem 1 for Career Episode 1 and its solution

Designed model did not work

Author corrected the assumption and again checked the working of the network. On the reanalysis, he found the efficient dispatching of data as expected from the network system.

  1. Problem 2 for Career Episode 1 and its solution

Message was not transferred in the manner desired

He then reanalyzed the multiplexing table and found that the entry in the multiplexing table was wrong. He made the necessary corrections in the multiplexing table and obtained the desired message.

Telecommunication Engineering Career Episode 2

Project Name: BUILDING A SECURE LAN

Project Type: Academic Based Career Episode Project

Demographics: This project was done during the final year of author’s bachelor degree in information and communication technology from “University name”, Australia. This project was accomplished successfully by the proper support and guidance of “supervisor name “from August 2015 to November 2015, a period of four months.

Engineering Activities of Telecommunication Engineer:

  1. To review different types of network topologies to get a better understanding of the significance of using it in the initial period.
  2. To list down the network security issues and analyze the potential threats and vulnerabilities.
  3. To analyze possible risks in quantitative and qualitative terms.
  4. To review and propose the use of various technologies and devices for providing security in the network.
  5. After that, to perform the designing of required topology along with the providing new IP addresses.
  6. Finally, to prepare the security design and implement it using different technologies.

Problem & Solutions:

  1. Problem 1 for Career Episode 2 and its solution

Create a three-layer connection between the CSW and the firewall

He configured the Fast Ethernet of the core switch as a routing port without providing any switch port command and assigned it to the required IP address. This ensured that a working network connection was configured.

  1. Problem 2 for Career Episode 2 and its solution

Process of securing the remote client access

As per the author, configuration was made using ASA version 8.3 and ASDM 6.4, but it was not consistent with other versions. He followed the suggestion of the project coordinator and performed the configuration accordingly which allowed secure access from remote locations.

Telecommunication Engineering Career Episode 3

Project Name: LOCAL AREA NETWORK: DESIGN AND SIMULATION

Project Type: Academic Based Career Episode Project

Demographics: This project was done during the final year of author’s bachelor degree in information and communication technology from “University name”. This project was accomplished successfully by the proper support and guidance of “tutor/professor name “from August 2016 to November 2016, a period of four months.

Engineering Activities of Telecommunication Engineer:

  1. To initiate the project with a study/research regarding the required information from various resources.
  2. To schedule the discussion with the project supervisor as well as the technical team regarding the implementation of topology for creating a local area network.
  3. To use a different network transmission medium for creating the local area network in the simulation software.
  4. To assign the VLAN of each physical switch by performing the single switch configuration and multiple switch configuration in the virtual domain.
  5. To complete the LAN simulation model.
  6. Finally, to test the result by using the ping connection in between two ends for the project completion.

Problem & Solutions:

  1. Problem 1 for Career Episode 3 and its solution

Hardware Requirement during testing phase

Author found the system was running low on low memory which meant that system was not responding to the specific task while operating. Correctly managed the specified features needed to proceed while running the simulator software more systematically. After implementing this, it significantly solved author issue more easily and conveniently.

  1. Problem 2 for Career Episode 3 and its solution

Topology selection phase

Author selected the initial topology for the development of the local area network that could not properly incorporate all the technicalities of the LAN system. Compared the functionalities as well as other intricate features of each topology framework. Selected the topology which would be able to incorporate all the required technical considerations of Local Area Network.
